At the CEDIA Expo, Control4 has released its OS 2.10.4, with new music and personalization features.Control4 has also announced the extension of BakPak monitoring to more devices, as well as new support for the international KNX building automation standard.Control4 OSWith its new OS release, Control4 has added Amazon Music and Deezer HiFi to its music streaming options. A new Add Music capability lets users add one or more music services from a mobile device or Control4 Touch Screen. Currently, Control4 also directly supports Deezer, iHeartRadio, Napster, Pandora, SiriusXM, Spotify, Tidal and TuneIn.' Control4 continues to deliver incredible sounding music for every room in the house,' said Martin Plaehn, Control4 Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. 'Starting with the Control4 EA-line of controllers, Triad high-resolution multi-room audio products, Triad custom loudspeakers, and by working with industry-leading streaming music services, we're providing fantastic music listening experiences to our customers and we're equipping our Dealers with high-resolution music capabilities for every living space in the home, from the source to the listener's ear.' A new When Then capability allows homeowners to customize their system without dealer assistance, creating and editing voice scenes for Amazon Alexa, creating custom buttons and programming for Control4's recently-introduced Intercom Anywhere, and modifying schedules for lighting scenes. Also, dealers can now unlock programming added through Control4 Composer Pro software, enabling homeowners to modify and add to existing programming through When Then.'

Remote ManagementControl4 has also announced that BakPak remote management capability is now available for all Pakedge WK and WX access points, as well as for PowerPak PDUs (power distribution units). Dealers can now remotely reboot devices, update firmware or change Wi-Fi passwords, without additional hardware or licensing fees.The new BakPak release is available via a firmware update.
It makes remote management of all Pakedge access points and PowerPak PDUs a standard capability. An updated BakPak app allows management from iOS or Android devices, and the Web-based interface has also been updated with a more-intuitive menu and navigation layout.Control4 notes that all 5,700 independent authorized Control4 and Pakedge dealers have access to Pakedge networking products with BakPak. This includes high-performance routers, switches, wireless access points, wireless controllers and power distribution points.KNX IntegrationLastly, Control4 has announced immediate availability of a new Control4 KNX solution. This includes both KNX support within the Control4 OS and a new KNX product lineControl4 notes that KNX has become a popular standard around the world, for applications including lighting and HVAC. The company states that its new release 'embraces and deeply integrates KNX into the Control4 ecosystem.' A new Control4 KNX Network driver, in the latest OS release, natively connects to existing KNX devices, without requiring third-party integration.KNX support is said to enable interoperability with the entire Control4 ecosystem, including support for Amazon Alexa voice control, and over 12,000 other connected products.
